Ebenezer will be running the Christianity Explored course on Thursday nights, starting on October 3, 2019 at 7:00 pm. Since its first publication in 2001, Christianity Explored has reached hundreds of thousands of people across the world.

The Christianity Explored course is for people who are interested in investigating Christianity a little more closely, or who are interesting in growing in their understanding of the good news of Jesus Christ. Looking at Mark’s gospel, the course explores who Jesus is, why he came, and what it means to follow him.

Everyone is welcome: you, your friends, your family, your neighbours and your co-workers. Each session will include a meal, a brief Bible study, a video and then discussion. The intention is to introduce people to the gospel in a casual and conversation manner over a meal. The format is very casual and laid back and there is no expectation or obligation to come back the next week.

Here is a description of the course from the Christianity Explored Leader’s Handbook:

“Christianity Explored is an introduction to Jesus that is grounded entirely in Mark’s Gospel.

Over seven sessions, people discover the identity, mission and call of Jesus: who he is, what he achieved, and how he calls us to respond.

What makes Christianity “good news”? It’s the realization that although we’ve rebelled against God and deserve to face his judgment, we are loved by him. Loved with an extraordinary, costly and self-sacrificing love, a love which was poured out for us on a little hill just outside Jerusalem. A love that enables us to be reconciled to God, and enjoy him forever.”
